2012 Summer Program
Camp Olmsted, Goshen
:: June 23 - 30 :: Camp Olmsted is one
of the six camps which make up Goshen Scout Reservation in
the George Washington National Forest of Virginia and is owned
by the National Capital Area Council. The camp offers Shooting
Sports, Handicraft, Ecology, Scoutcraft, Trailshead and Aquatics
areas and over 60 Merit Badges. It has a Tech Center for work
on technology merit badges including Aviation, Astronomy,
Electricity, Engineering, Computers, and Electronics; and a new
Culturecraft area which focuses on Fine Arts Merit Badges such
as Theater, Music, Art, Cinematography, Architecture, Sculpture,
and Photography. A program that is unique to Camp Olmsted
is the X-Pride program, which provides an opportunity for older
scouts to participate in high-adventure activities such as rock
climbing, GPS orienteering, and an overnight trip to Viewing
Rock.
Sea Base High Adventure
:: Aug 1-7:: The Florida National
High Adventure Sea Base is owned and operated by the
National Council of the Boy Scouts of America to offer unique
educational aquatic programs to our members. Located in
Islamorada, the heart of the Florida Keys, the near shore reefs
offer unparalleled opportunities for long term and short term
programs year round.
Northern Tier
:: Date TBD :: Northern Tier National High
Adventure Base offers 6-10 day wilderness canoe treks at one
of the most beautiful and remote parts of North America in the
boundary waters between Minnesota and Ontario.
